Picture #1 : HUNGER GAMES!! I can not wait to watch it with Brett tonight, I am however sad that the next part will not be out until November 2013 an then the Last book will be 2 parts Nov. 2014 and Nov. 2015!

Picture #2: Got my first co-op fluff mail ! These are Sunbaby Diapes! SUPER CUTE (although Brett isnt to excited about the pink one lol I think Zelan can rock it!)

Picture #4: I got all of this for $9.95 off amazon! A Case, Screen protector with cleaning cloth, computer cord, and Stylus! I Ordered it with my Pre-order copy of Hunger Games and got free shipping! YAY ME!

I know again I'm a day late....My thoughts on Thursday was SUVs !

We need a new car, we currently have a Malibu 1999. Our family is growing to much to fit and the car is just getting old and has high mileage. So now we are going to start looking around at new cars hopefully Monday Brett and I will be able to go test out a few! Any ideas on new cars would be great! We would like large, with good gas mileage, DVD players inside wouldn't hurt either! I really hope we can get something soon! Please keep your fingers crossed!

Watch It Wensday! {yes i know we are a day late}

So my watch it Wednesday was pretty exciting I have found a few new shows! First off I was on facebook the other day and saw tons of post about "honey Boo-Boo" (no idea what this was I googled)  I found out it was a spin off of Toddlers in Tiaras only it was about ONE girl and her family. I watched the first episode with my husband and he needless to say had a comment on everything they did...so i waited to get caught up on it after he went to work. Well this Little girl is 6 i believe and she has 3 sisters, a mom and a dad, they live in GA and lets just say they are........VERY Unique..... The Plot is that she is getting ready for a big "glitz" pageant and this is fallowing her steps to get there. All in all its only 30mins but its not a bad show, if you have nothing to do sit down and watch it(on TLC), I'm sure you will get some giggles!

Next off on Tuesday Brett called me from work and sounded excited... " FACE OFF COMES ON TONIGHT!" (he is so silly)
I cant get Brett to watch many shows with me but he loves Face Off (SyFy I  think) it is a movie make up/costume competition, I'm not talkin throw some blood here put a scar there....i'm talkin FULL out make this look like some thing from Star Wars or Dr.Seuss! Its great! Last year I picked out the winner from the first show! This year I have my eyes on a few by the next show I should know. If you like movies and costumes this show is for YOU!
We also saw the previews for a new show from the makers of Face Off...I can't remember the name at this moment but its like Face Off but its stages instead of make up and costumes! Looks pretty neat and Brett said that we will be watching that one also! (starts in September)

Pretty Excited that Shows are starting to come on again!!

Tuesday Pins {Mission Re-do}

Thanks to Pin I fell in love with the black/yellow/grey theme, mainly the zig-zag! we re did our coffee table, 3 chairs and two storage bins and our curtains !  here is how it turned out

These chairs are purple under the red(which we put on before)
they were $15 Each! You can see one of the storage bins in the middle of them
it did have the "rams" icon on them but I covered them also!
The ottoman was our full sized coffee table we just bough padding (also gotten at a thrift store $1 )
and got shorter legs $.91 each (yes I said cents!) The Fabric is from Hancock Fabrics and Hobby Lobby
then the black is a fitted sheet and the Grey seat is a pillow case!

This chair was $4 ! We covered the seat with a pillow case
and used fabric on the back!

SUPER EASY and if I do say so myself SUPER CUTE! 
(way cheaper than buying new chairs and it was a lot of fun for my husband and
myself to do this together)

Sum it up Sunday!

First off I would like to state that Sunday and Monday my husband is off work so my post might be late :)

Sum it up Sunday(short one my computer is almost dead)- This past week we have made a huge jump in potty training! Riley even went at Walmart the other night! His diapers at night time have been dry also! YAY!! We also decided that we are going to redo our living room chairs in different colors to brighten up the room. We went with black,grey, white and yellow! WE LOVE IT! but we also bought another chair for $4 (cant pass that up) and we can not find a way to get it to fit...so pictures will be posted after we get everything in order!
This up coming week I will be waiting on mail! We have fluff mail coming, I won a few contest and I will be waiting on those items also I have a new kindle case and my Hunger Games movies coming in the mail! CANT WAIT! This will be a great week!!

Howes Family Favorites week #1

Family Favorites Week #1 (8/17/2012)

Picture 1: MAM 2 Rockin' Pacifiers and a Clip 

(I have been looking for this style of Paci since I found out I would be having boy) 

and I found them randomly at our small town IGA!

Cookies and Cream....one word AMAZING!

Picture 3: While walking pass the toys in walmart we realize they moved them ALL around 

and added an isle for Lego, they new have Disney Baby Brand Toys (baby lion king, Bambi,Dumbo), 

added a ton more toddler character toys such as Mickey Mouse Clubhouse, Team Umizoomi (sp?) and a Jake and the Neverland Pirates section(which is the boys bedroom theme, I must post a picture one day)! We spend and hour just looking at all the new toys and left with Jake! Riley let Bubby have him because he wants Hook!

Picture 4: this is not the Cars print we have but its close..Finally Riley wants to use the potty, thanks to cars! He has done pretty well we are on day 5 and only a few accidents, the only time he has one is when he is wearing undies O.o..

and give to Riley and Zelan they BOTH LOVE  them! They are super soft so Zelan can eat them not problem, they both will lick their bowls clean!

 the lid flips to show a straw! We were having problem with the normal sippys getting all the way clean around the edge of the lid so now we have been buying these, the kids love them! They stay warm/cold for 12 hours!

Think About it Thursday...One word FLUFF!!!

FLUFF FLUFF FLUFF (aka Cloth Diapers- and no not wash cloths and pins...these are mush more addicting)
That is all I have thought about all day..because its PAY DAY! When I woke up this morning the first thing on my mind was to find out what co-op (great diapers at a cheap price because a bunch of moms order together) I was going to pay out of this weeks check. Well I weeded out some diapers and switched some around so that I could get my prices down to a husband approved (or somewhat approved) price. Well after getting my still running 3 co-ops  down below $70 well lets just say below a large price,(cloth IS cheaper than throw away diapers IF IF IF you don't get addicted like me, But hey they are re-sell-able so we will get all our money back) I went and started a deep clean on the diapers I have, some how we worked up a funky smell(I think its our hard water) so I have to strip them with bleach. (which after a bleach and detergent wash,5 rises and sun drying they smell like new!)
Well once Brett left for work I looked on our Fluff site and saw some awesome words " Sunbaby 4 has made it to my house" Via a co-op runner! meaning that I pay shipping on these and they will be at MY door in the next few days! YAYAYAYAYAY! I jumped up and down and sent in the shipping cost within a few minutes (this will be my first receiving of diapers from a co-op, I have already paid for 3 co-ops but and I'm waiting on them to be sent to the co-op runner which takes some time because the diapers have to be made and the co-op order A LOT at once) Well so after being super excited about that shipment of diapers coming my way (the last leg of the race) I then see posted on the site "Cartoon Diapers 2 have made it to my house" via another co-op runner (there only a few ladies that run the co-op for MANY of us moms and they have to do a ton to make sure we get great diapers for great prices, I thank them tons for that) So YAYYAY again I still have to find out my shipping cost for the cartoon diapers but once I do they will also be on their way to MY house! I super excited to see how the diapers turned out and I will make sure to post a picture on this post as soon as I get them in!
SOOO needless to say I had a Great Super Fluffy day!

Watch it Wednesday

My First Watch It Wednesday Post will be about what show I watch and a movie I'm super excited about that will be on DVD Aug 18th!
I, mommy of two boys never get to watch my shows on tv. I always have to find them online, so far the best site for that is sidereel...here is a LINK to my watch list https://www.sidereel.com/users. I try to keep up the best I can but I get behind some days. A lot of my favorite shows are on hiatus right now and I cant wait for them to come back on! I also have some shows on netflix that I watch/catch up on, right now Mainly Drop Dead Diva, pretty good show!

UPCOMING DVD RELEASE:..........dun dun dun dunnnnnn......Hunger Games! I read all the books within what I believe was 2 weeks, for a mom of 2 kids that was good timing. I LOVED them so much that I watched the online version of it(where you could barely see the picture).   Now I don't go out at midnight to get many movies (except a copy of Breaking Dawn part 1 for myself  and my mother) but I am really thinking of going to get this one at Midnight! I cant wait to watch it again! They only thing that i noticed was different about the movie was how she got the pin but like i said what I saw of it was a rough picture and sucky sound so I could be wrong. I will be sure to write about it again after I watch a copy that I can see and hear!

Pin*Spiration Tuesday- Getting Started

If you haven't started "pinning" do not read any further....Just kidding but please know that it has turned into an addiction for many including myself.
Symptoms of being a Pin addict:

1. Spending many hours "pinning" and forgeting the world around you.
2. Getting the idea that you can do anything that you "pin" 
3. When you have doubled/tripled and even quadrupled "pinned" because you can't remember what all you have pinned before. 
4. When you have to make a trip to the store after being on pin for a few minutes.

6. Having your complete dream house "pinned" down to the style of bathtub and organized closets
7. Last but not least when the words " HONEY LOOK AT WHAT I PINNED TODAY" come from your mouth as soon as your husband comes in the door.

What is Pinning you ask?
Pinning is what you do on the site Pinterest. It is a site with all kinds of pictures/ideas for everything from vacations, food, kids crafts, DIY ideas, photography, tattoos, well anything and everything and I mean EVERYTHING! It lets you pin/re-pin the ideas you like to your profile where you can organize them into boards so that you can find them at anytime.

Where can you find pinterest? I can pin from my computer, kindle fire or my husbands Iphone!



What kind of things do I pin? well I am a every day pinner, I have a ton of boards(where your pins go) , I have gotten craft ideas for my kids, food ideas, home interior ideas, birthday ideas and heck date ideas for Brett and I. a link to my boards is below:

Life on the Rise Up-Grade!

I want to be more into the blog life! So here it goes!

 Well lets see if I can stick with something for once! Wish me Luck and OFF WE GO! 

Step into my shoes for a day

I have the rainy day blues so i figure why not let others see what my day looks like in a nut shell......

Around 7a-8am- I hear Brett roll out of bed to get cry baby Zelan and feed him his breakfast. I roll myself out of bed and get Riley some waffles (he is addicted!).

8:30 am- Make Brett breakfast then put some clean cloth on the boys butts.

9:00 talk to Brett while he gets ready for work.

9:45 tell Brett by and turn on the laptop checking facebook, leaving that up while the boys are watching TV I start my latest past time (reading 50 Shades).

10a-12p: read while getting up every 5mins to stop the kids fighting, getting into things, climbing on everything....ect (no lie) Start the diaper laundry and get up every 15mins to turn on rise 4 times.

12p- change butts because by this time both boys have had their morning poos. make Zelan a Sippy and put him in his bed for a nap....hopefully get Riley to lay down and take a nap also. Take the diapers out of the washer because i most likely forgot i was washing them and put the diapers on my dry rack and throw the inserts and wash cloths in the dryer....try to pack my dry rack outside without waking up the boys......start clothes laundry....

2p- look up to see cry baby Zelan crawling down the hallway into the living room...he's awake! start with TV(which is never turned off Disney Jr. EVER) and playtime....then Riley wakes up get him lunch and remember that i haven't ate.....fix myself a hot pocket!

3p-6:30p- keep the boys happy and myself sane...pick up toys every hour and take them back into their room so they can keep bring more out....and try to remember I'm doing laundry until Brett gets home....(at some point look out the window and realize i forgot the diapers were outside...so drag them into the house) some days insert vacuuming/ dusting/ mopping into this section...

6:40p- Start dinner, and feed Zelan....

7ish- eat diner while giving Zelan puffs trying to keep him calm while be eat...NOT in peace...

8p- bath time boys, night time diapers, put Zelan to bed with a sippy and ask Riley where he want to sleep (his futon in the living room or his bed).....

9p- realize the boys are not going to bed in their room scoop them up and take them into our bed (Brett, Zelan, Riley, Myself) full size bed....= lay there getting kicked/hit/hair pulled until they pass out....pack them into their beds..

11p- read my book while Brett snores...

3a- realize is super late and i need to go to see so I can wake up and do it ALL OVER AGAIN!

Howes House has Fluffy Butts

Yes, Finally we have gone fluffy! 

 

 

I have been trying my hardest to get Brett to which to Fluff (aka cloth diapers). Brett is a in the now type person (cloth=big bucks up front to save later) Well spending $25 a week on "normal" diapers was getting to be a bit much and Riley was getting ready to move up in size(they were in the same size so it was easy).... Well I came across a super nice lady that will send you diapers to get you started, Brett agreed to try them out.

We got our first batch in all prepped and ready before Brett got home the boys had fluffy bums!

Brett changed his first cloth diaper(even sprayed it out, we are lucky and our shower sprayer reaches the toilet) and he said and I quote " We can do this its simple and cute". That night he let me order 16 more diapers with MF inserts and 10 bamboo from a good friend who was selling some. The will be here tomorrow, cant wait! Then we ordered 9 cartoon character diapers from a co-op so we are super excited to get those in but we were told co-ops take a while to ship out. So far we are on the right track with cloth we have our tea tree oil ....OH WAIT! we also changed to cloth wipes too (hint hint tea tree oil)...then we have our coconut oil in case of red bums (which it works on a ton of things Brett was amazed he burnt himself on the oven last night and put some on it and in the morning you could hardly tell!) We have no bought any "normal" diapers since we got our first cloth diapers in, woohoo!

Only Time Can Tell

Let me give you some back story. When Riley was 6mths old we went to our normal 6month check up, at this visit the doctor pointed out that Riley might have a bit of a lazy eye and that we should have it looked at, so she set up an appointment for our little man.

We pull up at the pediatric eye doctor's office without a care in to world, my little sister has a lazy eye and with a little eye training it is completely unnoticeable. I sit in the big black chair holding Riley while they put eye drops in his eyes, we wait.....and wait ....and wait....they come back and look in his eyes. I hear the doctor say "hmmm, lets try different drops"  so again we wait....and wait...and wait....she comes back in, looks in his eyes staying mostly on the left side( the "lazy" eye)....then just like if she were saying "Hi" she looks at me and utters the horrifying words that still to this day breaks my heart "He is blind in his left eye, there is nothing we can do, the optic nerve didn't form"...I felt the room spin as tears flood my eyes, we are told the appointment is over and that once he is walking to get glasses so that his right ("good") eye is protected or else he could become completely bind. The whole car ride home Brett and I hold our left eye shut to get a grip on what Riley would be dealing with.

It turns out that he should be able to do anything a "normal" person could do except that he will have problems with depth perception , and could never fly a plane. We get his glasses at a year old and try to get him to wear them with no luck...

We changed doctors and were asked to get a second opinion about his eye....same results and no answered questions...

Riley is 2 years and 5 months old we were trying to get him to wear the glasses and he broke them. So like a good mom I set up another appointment with a new doctor, which is the same doctor mommy and daddy has. This appointment was set up for today. I had my mom take us since Brett had to work. We walk in I fill out all the papers, we wait to see the doctor, we get called back...Just like last time I sit in the big black chair and hold him while they put in the eye drops(not as easy as last time)...we wait....play Barney on the cell phone to keep him calm...and wait....The doctor comes in, I tell him all that i know...optic nerve isn't there and he is blind. He looks at Riley's eyes as I try my best to hold him still (not easy) then he imforms us that yes he is blind and there isn't anything we can do. Then Finally I get my questions answered......"What is it called?" --"Optic Nerve Coloboma but he also has Clouding of the lens (cataract)" Will his eye change colors"----"no but in the sun, light or in pictures it will be cloudy" then the dreaded question " Will his eye grow" -----"No, it will not grow there for it will be come more cosmetically noticeable the older he gets"......my heart sinks.... but wait that's not all  something new that we had no clue about "Riley also has astigmatism in his right ("good") eye and is far sighted" ....here we were thinking at since his left eye is lacking his right eye will be super strong .....NOPE.  We then finish the appointment by picking out Riley's new glasses. We leave....I act like nothing happened...get home mom leaves, call Brett and tell him to come home as soon as he can....my heart is once again broken....I can't help but to worry about his future, how will school go for him, will kids be mean, call him names, will he want to be a pilot or a surgeon and not be aloud....will his depth perception be off so much that he cant play sports (I have always wanted to be a football mom)...........

only time can tell.

Meeting The Howes Family

First off let it be known that I have no Idea on how to start this blogging thing, so bare with me please.

Brittany(me)- I am 21, a wife and a mother, I enjoy cooking, playing with the boys, playing wii with the husband and taking photos.

Brett (the husband)- Brett is 23 and is an amazing Husband, Father and provider. Brett and I met in college, it was my 1st and his 2nd year. I was going for Elm/spacial needs teaching and he was going for criminal justice. We feel in love at first (well 2nd sight). The first night we meet was at a party and needless to say I don't really recall that night(so lets not count that one). The first time we "met/talked" we were eating lunch with some friends and everyone was talking about their new laptops. Well I hadn't gotten the chance to go out and buy a new one so this nice guy that I hadn't really ever talked to before said that he would take me to Best Buy to help me pick out one...Needless to say I say ok and off we went. We bought my laptop and then he took me out to dinner and paid (score right lol) Well then we went to a party(yea college was well lived up, I was what you might call a partier, don't remember alot about my college life) well any who after that party Brett slept over at my house and yes we slept. From that night on we have not been apart for more than a few hours on Feb 14th 2009 he finally made me his girlfriend! A few months later the semester was over and we got an apartment together, later that month we found out we were expecting our first child...Yes a bit of a freak out it was at first but we both knew we wanted to be together and that we loved each other uncontrollably. So we were going to have a BABY!

Riley(son, 2 years old)- After 2 mths with no period, I had Brett buy a test. I kicked him out of the bathroom and took it, sat it on the counter top of our new apartment and waited....5mins later i opened the door and showed Brett a very dark + sign...We were going to be parents. I cried(tears of joy and tears of freaking out), I laughed(what i do in stressful situations).  So here we are new apartment barely getting by and now we would be bringing a life into this world. It was a LONG and HARD 9mths.  From us trying to get on our feet and a very hard pregnancy. One great thing that happen was Brett Proposed on September 18th 2009. I was in and out of the hospital every week from 6mths up. At 6mths pregnant we found out that my kidneys were not draining, after having many test and a few scopes ran, Riley has my tubes to my bladder smashed. I had to have a tube placed in my back (left side) so that at least one kidney could drain. This tube was NASTY, it drained out of my back and into a bag that i would have to pack around for the rest of the pregnancy. The first tube got clogged up when i was 35 weeks pregnant and wouldn't drain. So they had to RIP it out (and i mean rip, it was stuck in my back and I was wake and 2 tugs away from being sent to surgery). SO i get this new tube and feel soo much better then at 36 weeks it happen! I was the 15th of January 2010, It was a Friday morning about 3am I started getting contractions(even though I had them alot and was in and out of the hospital getting them stopped every week) these felt different, I woke up Brett and at 7am we went to the hospital. After getting monitored for a few hours of trying to get the contractions to stop and my heartbeat racing they said ok we are going to break your water Baby is coming tonight(so they thought). So at 4:30pm they broke my water and we called the family. After a very LONG LONG LONG labor and hour of pushing with a nurse and 3 pushes with the doctor Riley Matthew Howes came into the world blue, at 6lbs 11oz and 19in long with dark brown hair and I party girl Brittany became a MOTHER. Riley spent 5 days in the NICU and then we brought our baby home. And Life with a Newborn started.

Our Angel Baby-We found out that we we expecting another child around the First of September 2010, but Yes this at first was a bit for us to handle two babies so close but then we feel in love with the idea. On October 17th we realized that he/she would be our Angel baby due to a blighted Ovum(no baby was able to form). Still yet it was our "baby" and will Forever be in Heaven to watch over our family <3

Zelan(son, 3mths old)- On January 24th 2011 Brett and I went off and got married, we did not tell a sole with was just us. We went down to Nashville went to dinner, long walks around Nashville spent the night. Who knew that not only did we get married that day but something else happened that would soon change our lives even more. On February the 8th I wasn't feeling quite right so I had Brett buy a test, we nervously took this test and a very very faint + was in the window. We were Pregnant again (after last time we waited to tell anyone). I went to the doctor and the "it" was a sea monkey with a strong heartbeat, who was due on October 17th (it was meant to be) We were so nervous to go to that 20wk doctors appointment with both of us fingers crossed for a "taco" aka girl (name ready and waiting, we had the name picked out at 12 weeks for a girl but could not for the life of us come up with a boy name)......THEN we see a "hot dog" aka boy. I was going to be the mother of two stinky boys! With a smile on my face I told Brett now we better get serious to finding a boy name we agree on because Ariella might cause some name calling in school for this little man. Not only was this a boy it was a BIG boy the changed my due date to the 10th of October. This pregnancy wasn't as hard, i managed to deal with the kidney issues/pain so i wouldn't have to get the tube again. At 35 weeks I started to contract....I went up to our little hospital and they said i was dilating so the sent me by Ambulance to a bigger hospital where I spent a week with contractions the whole time trying to keep this boy in...finally i hit 36 weeks and said that I could go home and if i went into labor my hospital could handle it...so I go home still contracting....go to my doctor once a week still contracting all the time and still at 1cm....37 weeks 1cm.....38wks 1cm....39 appointment still 1cm still contracting and baby is measuring big still around 9lbs (im only 5.2' and was 135 pregnant) we set up my induction date. I was to go in the October 2nd at 7pm to start induction...Well the morning of October 1st I was up at 2am with contractions...thinking they arnt going to change anything I lay there and put up with them and "tried" to sleep....well Brett wakes up at 8am and I tell him that my contractions are strong and every 2-3mins...and that I want to take a bath to calm them. I go take a bath and there it was a sign that something was different this time (not gonna put detail but it wasn't my water breaking). We rush up to the hospital car FULL my two little sisters were staying all night with us and we had Riley. After me freaking out on the check in people for them taking 3 people(doing Workman's comp stuff) in front of me i finally get up to the room. I get this nurse that is well to put it nicely comparable to a box of rocks....she put me on the monitor can couldn't find a heartbeat....the other nurse came in and told her to leave...the monitors where on upside down..there he was my stubborn little boys strong heart beat! Time to check....expecting to hear 1cm again we heard....."6cm and 75% thinned your having this baby today" ....I think I could have done a cartwheel if i wouldn't have been in pain, instead I said "when can i get my damn epi" lol  so they sent the guy in to give me the epi..instead he tried a spinal tap...yeah that did NOTHING so with the epi in and working FINALLY and family arriving I went to sleep. Until i got the shakes so bad i couldn't sleep...it was about 6:15pm and they said i was ready to push..so I pushed and hear the doc say "turn off the epi she is to numb she is only moving her face"...epi off and waiting for it to wear down...6:45 doc is back..I push and we have progress...At 7:00pm on the dot Zelan Ray Howes was born(with the help of the vac) at 8lbs.3oz and 19in long screaming his lungs and looking just like his brother! I was Now the Mommy to two boys and a Wife!
